Cooperation with industry

Besides fundamental research, the Department of Turbine Aerodynamics offers its applied research, design and computing capabilities as well as expertise to industrial partners. The employees take part in elaboration of new technologies, invention of new devices and apparatuses, elaboration of new measurement and computational methods and their implementation in industrial practice. One way to cooperate with industry was based on direct orders from industry to the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery. The Department of Turbine Aerodynamics also actively cooperates with industry through 2 limited liability companies Diagnostyka Maszyn S.A. and Maszyny Przepływowe S.A. whose one share-holder is the Polish Academy of Sciences. Managing Director of these companies is Dr. Andrzej Gardzilewicz. Works conducted by employees of the Department of Turbine Aerodynamics concentrate on steam turbine diagnostics, turbine modernisation and transfer of computer codes to industry, see the list below.
