Ms Magdalena Mieloszyk was born in 1982 in Gdansk. In years 2000-2006 she studied at the Gdansk University of Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The title of her M.Sc. thesis was "Microstructure and some properties of boride layers on steel".

In November 2006 she started working at the Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery in the Department of Mechanics of Intelligent Structures. Her scientific interests are focused on the application of the fibre optic sensors (especially fibre Bragg grating sensors) for structural health monitoring. The title of her Ph.D. thesis is 'Fibre Bragg grating sensors for structural health monitoring applications'.
