Calculation of End-Wall Flow in Turbine Cascades
HARALD B. CARRICK

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the application of three calculation methods to the end-wall flow in turbine cascades. Each of the methods is described, the principle assumptions reviewed and, where possible, example calculations with experimental comparisons are induded.
The first two methods, following the classical approach of dividing the flow into an inviscid mainflow and a boundary layer, compute the development of the boundary layer when the mainstream flow is known; whereas the third method solves for the entire flow field.
